Dear Friend of Appalachian Ballet Company,
We danced! We danced because you helped keep us soaring. Thank-you.
We celebrated our 50th year with an anniversary documentary, performances of the beloved Nutcracker, Bluejeans and Ballet show and dinner (even if it took canceling and performing in early January), an under the sea adventure with The Little Mermaid, and a Regional Dance America/Southeast festival performance in Daytona Beach, Florida.
What a wonderful golden anniversary year, despite the pandemic, and we have you to thank. The ballet company has persevered, grown, and matured over these last two years. Our dancers are ready, once again, to share their passion of dance and show their beautiful smiles to you.
And now, drum roll please...
We are excited to be sharing our 2022-2023 season with you!
We will be presenting Bluejeans and Ballet 2022 “What the World Needs Now” in September The Nutcracker for two weekends in December Peter Pan in the spring.
In addition to our season, in collaboration with Clayton Center for the Arts, we are thrilled to announce that we will be performing a free school matinée of Peter Pan to several under-served Blount County School students. We will also be holding two free workshops; Broadway Musical Theatre classes for our community and a Hip Hop workshop for middle school age students. These projects are being supported, in part, by federal award number SLFRP5534 awarded to the State of Tennessee by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
As always, the arts need support, and we hope you will join us this season. Please visit our website to make a donation.
Along with our Board of Trust,
with gratitude and a dancing heart, we hope to see you
at the theatre,
Amy Morton Vaughn
